What Women Want: E4A-MamaYe Wants to Know

E4A-MamaYe is proud to be a partner in a global campaign that will put women’s voices at the centre of healthcare.

What Women Want: Demands for quality healthcare for women and girls aims to hear from 1 million women about their top priority for quality healthcare services. We want to know what quality healthcare means to women and girls no matter where they live, what religion they practice or economic status in which they fall.

Quality means different things to different people. This week, E4A-MamaYe has been asking members of its own team about their one ask for quality maternal and reproductive healthcare. The responses from Nigeria and Kenya show the diversity of what women want.

For the remainder of this year, What Women Want will ask this question to women and girls all over the globe. The results will be present a global picture of women and girls’ demands for quality healthcare. Data will also be disaggregated by country allowing them to inform country-specific advocacy activities.

When women and girls’ voices are heard, progress accelerates.

With approximately 214 million women worldwide with an unmet need for family planning and approximately 300,000 women dying during pregnancy and childbirth every year the time for action is now! Join the What Women Want twitter chat on Wednesday April 11th from 10am ET to 11am ET and share why you are joining this movement for quality healthcare. Then join the campaign!
